kokoro is a small iPhone app for sending little signals to yourself and, if you choose, to one other person. This policy explains exactly what the app and our server keep. We don’t sell data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking tools.

If you use kokoro on your own

Without an account, everything stays on your iPhone: the signal you picked, your taps and their times, and your settings. Our widgets read the same data on the device. Nothing is sent to us.

If you sign in with Apple

Signing in is needed only to share a sky with another person or to keep your taps in sync. When you sign in:

• Apple account identifier. Apple gives us an anonymous, app-specific identifier so we can recognise your account. We don’t ask Apple for your email address. If Apple shares your name, it stays on your iPhone and is not sent to our server.
• Your time zone, so a day resets at your midnight.
• Your signals and taps: the emoji and phrase you chose and the time of each tap.
• Invites: the invite code you create, when it expires, and who accepted it.
• Shared sky: which two accounts are connected, the shared signal and shared time zone, and the taps sent within it.

We also keep a token Apple issues at sign-in, used only to tell Apple to revoke kokoro’s access when you delete your account.

The name you give your person in the app is stored only on your iPhone.

What your person can see

In a shared sky, your person sees the shared signal and how many times you tapped it for them each day. They don’t see your own signal, your personal history, or the name you gave them.

Where it’s stored

Our server runs on Cloudflare (Workers and D1). Like most web services, Cloudflare processes technical request information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service, and keeps short-lived logs we use only to fix problems.

How long we keep it

• Data on your iPhone stays until you delete the app.
• Disconnect permanently deletes the shared history for both people.
• Delete account (in the app’s settings corner) permanently deletes your account, your synced signals and taps, your invites, and ends any shared sky, deleting its history for both people.

Children

kokoro is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them.

Your choices

You can use kokoro without an account, stop sharing at any time, or delete your account from the app. You can also ask us about your data or request deletion by writing to support@mykokoro.dev.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be mentioned in the app’s release notes.
